3	Debate Team	Mrs. Schappell	Any student who has participated on the team before, anyone who has taken the I-Research/Debate Encore with Mrs. Manigrasso, or the Argument & Evidence Encore.		Provided by Mrs. Schappell	Wednesdays, starting 10/4/2023	2:45-4pm	Students research topics and compete against students from other schools in day long tournaments during the year. Tournaments are on Saturdays. Tournaments were held virtually the last two years, but may be back to in-person this year.
4	Redbird Singers	Mrs. Bartlett	Students in Grades 7-8 who are members of the 7th or 8th Grade Chorus class; Audition Required		Permission Slip Provided after an audition is passed		After School until 5:00PM	Redbird Singers is a advanced choral ensemble which performs throughout the year at various concerts and school/community events.

9	SBMS Musical	Mrs. Bartlett	Any student in grade 6-8 with a desire to perform in a full-length musical or work behind the scenes in stage crew (Grades 7&8 only). Audition is required for both cast & crew.			Workshops begin 10/6 after school. Stage Crew meeting is 10/8 during lunch.	TBD	All 6th-8th grade students are welcome to audition for the SBMS Musical! Dance workshops to prepare for auditions will begin in mid-September. Auditions are held at the end of October. Participation in Chorus/Theatre classes is not required, but highly recommended.

Its goal is to create activities for students that promote interest and involvement in the Middle School community.

Students will develop important skills needed in today's world such as engineering, programming, problem-solving, research, and teamwork. Students will also have the opportunity to participate in competitions (when applicable).
